CC, short for crowd control, refers to abilities that limit or stop an enemy champion’s actions. These effects can disrupt movement, prevent attacks, or interrupt spell casting through stuns, roots, silences, knockups, and other forms of control. Because CC temporarily removes an enemy’s ability to respond, it plays a major role in setting up picks, securing kills, and winning coordinated Gank attempts.
Strong CC chains can completely lock down high priority targets, making them vulnerable to follow up damage from carries or burst oriented champions. In teamfights, CC is essential for protecting the Backline and creating openings for initiators to engage. Proper use of CC often determines the outcome of skirmishes, objectives, and large engagements since disabling key opponents at the right moment can shift momentum immediately.
